Tim Russert Dead At Age 58 Of Apparent Heart Attack

Political journalist Tim Russert dies at 58

A host of pundits had predicted it for weeks. But somehow, Hillary Rodham Clinton's quest for the Democratic presidential nomination didn't truly seem doomed until May 6, when Tim Russert told the world Barack Obama would win the race.

About 16 years before, Mr. Russert made the same call for Clinton's husband, a scrappy governor from Arkansas. Mr. Russert also correctly called Florida as a battleground state in 2000 and coined the terms "red state" and "blue state" to explain America's ideological divide.

The Spice Is Right / Victoria Beckham To Do Reality Show

Posh to star in reality show

Victoria Beckham has reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal with US television network NBC to star in her own reality show.

The 32-year-old star has already been busy hobnobbing with Hollywood A-listers in recent weeks ahead of her family's move to the States this summer, when her footballer husband David begins his $250 million (£127 million) five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team.

According to Victoria's manager, Simon Fuller, NBC have decided to commission the show after being attracted by the star's "hilarious sense of humour".

Former Spice Girls manager Fuller, who oversaw Victoria's initial rise to fame, said: "The Americans were falling over themselves to sign Victoria up for a TV show but we had to choose the right deal for her.

Victoria Beckham eyes career in television

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - As English soccer star David Beckham prepares to move to a new team in Los Angeles, his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is also eyeing a new career -- in television.

A spokesman for the couple said Victoria Beckham, who rose to fame as "Posh Spice" in the British pop group The Spice Girls but has since struggled to revive her singing career, was interested in appearing in a new TV show.

"Major U.S. networks are interested in a program idea developed by 19 Entertainment on Victoria but as of yet no announcement has been made," said the spokesman.

Reports that the 32-year-old singer and fashion designer was going to appear in a reality TV show based on her move to Los Angeles were dismissed.

Conan O'Brien and the Horny Manatee

NEW YORK: The skit, as scripted for the Dec. 4 installment of the talk show "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," was about absurdist sports-team mascots that the host and his writers would like to see someday.Among them were something that O'Brien called "the Webcam manatee" — said to be the mascot of "FSU" — which was basically someone in a manatee costume rubbing himself or herself provocatively in front of a camera (to the tune of the 1991 hit "I Touch Myself"). Meanwhile, a voyeur with a lascivious expression watched via computer.
Who knew that life would so soon imitate art?
