Did Keith Richards Snort A Couple Lines Of Dear Old Dad ???

Keith Richards denies snorting his father's ashes

LONDON – Off the cuff or up the nose? That was the question Wednesday as Keith Richards said he was joking when he described snorting his father's ashes along with a hit of cocaine.
“It was an off-the-cuff remark, a joke, and it is not true. File under April Fool's joke,” said Bernard Doherty, a Rolling Stones spokesman, about Richards' quote in NME magazine.
But the magazine said on its Web site that the remark was “no quip, but came about after much thinking” by the 63-year-old guitarist.

Rolling Stone Keith Richards denies snorting his father's ashes, spokesman says

LONDON: Rolling Stone Keith Richards was joking when he claimed to have snorted his father's ashes along with cocaine, a spokesman said Wednesday.

"It was an off-the-cuff remark, a joke, and it is not true. File under April Fool's joke," said Bernard Doherty of LD Communications, which represents the band.

Doherty declined to say any more about why Richards made the statement in an interview with NME, a pop music magazine.

"The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," Richards was quoted as saying.

"He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared ... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."

Richards: I snorted my dad's ashes, they went down well

Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones' guitarist, has claimed he snorted his father's ashes during a drugs binge.
In an astonishing admission that might surprise even his fellow band members, who have become used to his wild and eccentric behaviour, Richards said he could not resist snorting the ashes while high on drugs.
"The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," said the 63-year-old in an interview with NME. "He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared, he didn't give a shit. It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."

Penn and Teller On The Drug War / Sheriff Joe Arpaio Is A Facist Pig

This three part series is from the show "Penn and Teller Bullshit" show. It is a no bullshit look at the so called "War On Drugs" in the United States and shows what a failure it is. Pay close attention to that asshole Joe Arpaio and what his idea of a free America would be if he had his way. Sounds like a facist pig if you ask me but I ask you all to watch all three parts and make your own minds up... BJC

Man Busted For Cursing Agent's Mother

FEBRUARY 12--A New York man, enraged that his girlfriend had been ensnared in a drug probe, is himself facing a felony rap for a vulgar telephone tirade directed at the parents of a federal agent. According to investigators, Joshua Haggerty, 24, began ranting soon after a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent contacted his girlfriend to discuss her surrender in connection with drug distribution. Amy McDonald, Haggerty's squeeze, was charged late last month in Maryland with cocaine distribution.

U.S. Teens Turning to Store-bought Highs

In a "good-news-bad-news" twist to the war on drugs, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) reports that U.S. teens are turning away from use of street drugs like marijuana and cocaine, in favor of abusing prescription drugs, and over-the-counter cough and cold medicines.
According to the ONDCP report, Teens and Prescription Drugs (.pdf), while illegal drug use among teens has dropped by 23 percent over the last five years, the number of new teen abusers of prescription drugs have caught up with new users of street drugs.

Parents: You Can Prevent Prescription Drug Abuse

LANCASTER -- You’ve forgotten about those leftover painkillers in the back of your medicine cabinet, but your teen may not have. Almost 600 Lancaster County youth in grades 6 through 12 have illegally used prescription pain medications (such as Vicodin® and OxyContin®) in their lifetimes, ac-cording to the 2005 Pennsylvania Youth Survey. Even more have abused stimulants, such as Ritalin®, intended to treat attention deficit disorder, while 350 misused tranquilizers (such as Xanax® and Valium®).

Prescription Drug Abuse A Growing Problem

According to Follansbee police, prescription drug abuse is a growing problem in the Ohio Valley.

Officers said a number of people try to file false reports that their prescription drugs were stolen.
Now, officers require those people to take lie detector tests but said people rarely show up for the polygraph.
Because of pain pill theft and forged prescriptions, pharmacists said they must keep an eye on their customers.

Aldo Crisante of the Follansbee Pharmacy said, "We don't treat anyone as a criminal, but if we're not familiar with them, we may give them another glance. We're also familiar with doctors' handwriting. We look for strange quantities of the medication."

Mexico extradites drug kingpins to U.S.

MEXICO CITY - Mexico extradited drug kingpins Osiel Cardenas and Hector “El Guero” Palma along with several other major traffickers to the United States on Friday as part of a major crackdown against warring cartels.
President Felipe Calderon took office in December and quickly sent troops and elite police units to tackle Mexico’s main drug cartels, in an attempt to halt a gruesome surge in violence that claimed more than 2,000 lives last year.
A total of fifteen men arrived in the United States aboard flights from Mexico on Friday.

The illegal drug trade is a global black market consisting of production, distribution, packaging and sale of illegal psychoactive substances. The illegality of the black markets purveying the drug trade is relative to geographic location, and the producing countries of the drug markets (many South American, Far East, and Middle East countries) are not as inclined to have "zero-tolerance" policies, as the consuming countries of the drug trade (mostly United States and Europe) are. The economic reality of the massive profiteering inherent to the drug trade serve to extend its reach despite the best efforts of enforcement agencies worldwide. In the wake of the economic reality, the social consequences (crime, violence, imprisonment, social unrest) of the drug trade are undeniably problematic.
